Greasing up potential MyC4 investments
Being an investor through myc4.com I spend some time browsing through potential investments/businesses to find some eligible ones.
One aspect of the investing is how high you set the rate of the money you invest. It's all relative to other bidders but as a general rule: The higher the rate, the higher risk you take of someone else under-bidding you.
Another aspect of choosing a suitable rate is how much money you put in and how much others have put in at different rates. The less money there is above (at a higher rate) the more likely you are to be under-bid. So usually you weigh these variables together to form an opinion that suits your mood.
In order to better get an overview of these variables I've created a crude GreaseMonkey script that accumulates the money "above" each bid in the bidding-page.
Greasing up Boliga.dk
Boliga.dk and Me
Searching for a new home I've been using the site boliga.dk quite a lot. The site aggregates a lot of real estate information in one place with graphs, searches and external links. All-in-all a very helpful site.
A Practical Problem
That being said, they are lacking a few things. The main function of the site is to provide a simple search interface for the properties but a few dings and quirks are still bugging me.
Each row in the search result is usually grouped by zip code but when re-ordered by any other column the location/zip code isn't visible without leaving the page. Thus forcing the user (being me) to check out every single item since Brønby isn't a place I want to live.
Also, the external links in the information page for an apartment are always opened in a new window. I keep the search results open and every row that looks interesting gets opened in a new tab. Due to my irresponsible behavior, searching becomes a window-opening hell.
Enter Grease Money
I've created two GM [Grease Monkey] scripts for working with the site. Just install them.
